Venus, Mercury, and the Waning Moon

NASA APOD · Kevin Saragozza
COSMIC MESSAGE

Early morning risers saw a waning Moon, Venus, and Mercury low in the east. This snapshot, taken from the Island of Ortigia, Sicily, Italy, captured the slender sunlit crescent just before sunrise. Venus and Mercury, never far from the Sun in Earth's sky, shared the view. The bright star Spica, in Virgo, is also visible.
