21st Century Wet Collodion Moon

This image of the moon was captured using the wet collodion process, a method of photography invented in the 19th century. To make an image, a glass plate was coated with a light-sensitive chemical mixture and exposed at the telescope. The entire process had to be completed before the plate dried.
