COSMIC MESSAGE

In 2011, NASA's NanoSail-D2 unfurled a 10-square-meter sail, becoming the first solar sail in low Earth orbit. This technology, once science fiction, was suggested by Johannes Kepler 400 years ago, who observed comet tails pushed by solar wind. Modern solar sails like NanoSail-D2 use sunlight pressure for propulsion.
