Lucy Launches to Eight Asteroids

The Lucy mission is traveling as far as Jupiter, but it is not visiting the gas giant itself. Instead, Lucy will study Jupiter's Trojan asteroids. These asteroids are trapped by Jupiter's gravity, orbiting the Sun both ahead of and behind the planet. They are thought to have formed in various parts of the early solar system, offering clues about its origins.
