COSMIC MESSAGE
This deep-sky image captures several galaxies and a passing comet in the constellation Canes Venatici. The large spiral galaxy NGC 4258, also known as Messier 106, is prominent at the upper left, about 23.5 million light-years away. Above and right of center is the edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 4217, approximately 60 million light-years distant. A faint comet, C/2023 P1 (Nishimura), streaks through the field of view.
