Auroras over Northern Canada

NASA APOD · Kwon, O Chul (TWAN)
COSMIC MESSAGE

In 2014, strong solar winds and charged particles from the Sun created several nights of bright auroras. This image, taken near Yellowknife in northern Canada, shows dramatic auroras stretching across the sky. They were so bright that they were clearly visible in a 1.3-second exposure.
