Omega Centauri, also known as NGC 5139, is a globular star cluster 15,000 light-years away. It contains about 10 million stars within a volume of 150 light-years. It is the largest and brightest of the 200 known globular clusters in our Milky Way galaxy's halo. Unlike most clusters, Omega Centauri has stars of different ages and compositions.
