Eclipse Rings
This photo captures the rare annular solar eclipse, where the Moon passes directly in front of the Sun but is too far away to completely cover it, creating a "ring of fire." The silhouetted figures of the photographer and her boyfriend stand in front of the eclipsed Sun over Lake Abert in Oregon. This type of eclipse is a striking celestial event, with the Moon's shadow briefly darkening the landscape.
