NGC 6946, the Fireworks Galaxy, is a beautiful spiral galaxy seen face-on from the Milky Way. Located 20 million light-years away in Cepheus, it shows a color gradient from old yellow stars in the core to young blue clusters and red star-forming regions in its arms. This galaxy is also known for its frequent supernovae.
