COSMIC MESSAGE
Stars can carve intricate shapes from the dense, dark molecular clouds where they form. High-energy light and fast stellar winds are the tools they use. The heat generated by these stars evaporates the dark dust and causes ambient hydrogen gas to glow. Pictured here, a new open cluster of stars, IC 1590, is forming within the Pacman Nebula.
