One year ago, on November 16, 2022, a Space Launch System rocket launched the Orion spacecraft on the Artemis I mission. This was the first test of NASA’s deep space exploration systems. Over an hour after liftoff, an external video camera on Orion captured this view of Earth from space. Orion's Orbital Maneuvering System engine and auxiliary engines are in the foreground.
