This image shows two distinct streaks: a comet and a meteor. The upper right streak is Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas, shedding gas and dust as it warms near the Sun. The lower left streak is a meteor, a small rock burning up as it enters Earth's atmosphere. Both are shedding material, but for different reasons and on different scales.
