COSMIC MESSAGE
NGC 1055, a large spiral galaxy, is seen edge-on, spanning over 100,000 light-years, comparable to our Milky Way. Located 60 million light-years away in Cetus, this image shows foreground stars from our own galaxy. However, you can also see distant pinkish star-forming regions and young blue star clusters scattered throughout NGC 1055 itself.
