COSMIC MESSAGE
Moonlight and sunlight both create beautiful ice halos in Earth's sky. These photos, taken one night and the following day in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France, show similar halos around both the Moon and the Sun. These optical phenomena are formed by light interacting with flat, hexagonal ice crystals in the atmosphere.
