The Great Orion Nebula, M42, is a vast star-forming region. This mosaic, made from fifteen Hubble Space Telescope images, reveals its complex structure. It contains the bright Trapezium cluster, hydrogen gas, and young stars, many still surrounded by protoplanetary disks. Stellar jets stream from some of these nascent stars, shaping the nebula.
