This Hubble Space Telescope photo, one of the deepest ever taken, shows galaxies as far away as we have photographed. It reveals the universe when it was only one-third its current age. Back then, a large fraction of galaxies were colliding and interacting, with many appearing more distorted than nearby galaxies.
