COSMIC MESSAGE
The European Southern Observatory is building the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile. It will consist of four 8.2-meter mirrors, which will operate together as a single telescope with a diameter over 16 meters. The VLT will surpass the Keck telescopes as the largest optical telescope in the world.
