COSMIC MESSAGE
The Horsehead Nebula is one of the most famous nebulae in the sky. It appears as a dark indentation in the red emission nebula, seen to the right of center in this photograph. The bright star near the center is in the belt of the constellation Orion. The horse-head feature is dark because it is an opaque dust cloud located in front of the bright red emission nebula.
