Supernova Remnant and Neutron Star

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

When a massive star dies, its core can collapse into an impossibly dense object called a neutron star. This neutron star is small, about 10 miles in diameter, but it contains more mass than our sun. The rest of the star blasts its outer layers into space, forming a supernova remnant.
