NGC 7380: The Wizard Nebula

COSMIC MESSAGE
The Wizard Nebula, NGC 7380, is an active star-forming region about 8,000 light-years away. Gravitation forms stars, while stellar winds and radiation create and dissolve gas towers. This interplay of stars, gas, and dust has shaped the nebula to resemble a fictional medieval sorcerer. The region spans about 100 light-years, surrounding the developing open star cluster NGC 7380.
