Disorder in Stephan's Quintet

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Stephan's Quintet shows five galaxies grouped closely together in this image from the Kitt Peak National Observatory 2.1-meter telescope. Four of the galaxies share a similar redshift, indicating they are at the same distance from us. However, the large bluish spiral galaxy below and to the left has a smaller redshift, meaning it is much closer and just appears to be part of the group.
