COSMIC MESSAGE
The Heart Nebula, cataloged as IC 1805, glows brightly with the red light of hydrogen, its most prominent element. This long-exposure image also blends light from silicon, shown in yellow, and oxygen, shown in blue. At its center, young stars from the open cluster Melotte 15 are eroding picturesque dust pillars with their energetic emissions.
