Lightning on Jupiter
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Lightning is not unique to Earth. Spacecraft have detected radio signals consistent with lightning on Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The Galileo orbiter photographed these optical flashes from Jupiter. The largest spot in the image is about 500 kilometers across, possibly high clouds illuminated by several bright flashes.
