COSMIC MESSAGE

The Tarantula Nebula, also known as NGC 2070, is a vast star-forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud, about 165,000 light-years distant in the constellation Dorado. Its popular name comes from its spidery appearance, but this cosmic arachnid stretches a thousand light-years across. If it were as close as the Orion Nebula, it would span 30 degrees of the sky, the width of 60 full moons.
