COSMIC MESSAGE
This computer reconstruction of Venus's surface comes from data collected by the Magellan spacecraft. Magellan orbited Venus from 1990 to 1994, using radar to map the planet beneath its thick clouds. It revealed large circular domes, typically 25 kilometers across, thought to be formed by volcanism on a once-molten surface.
