COSMIC MESSAGE

Interstellar dust, usually invisible, can reflect the light of nearby bright stars, creating reflection nebulae. Because bright stars tend to be blue, and dust reflects blue light more efficiently, these nebulae often appear blue. This image shows such a reflection nebula, revealing the hidden dust between stars. These cosmic clouds illuminate the otherwise dark expanse.
