COSMIC MESSAGE
Antares, a red supergiant in Scorpius, is about 700 times the diameter of our Sun. It is surrounded by a nebula of gas that it has ejected itself. The light from a blue companion star illuminates this expelled gas, making it glow in this photograph. Antares is about 500 light years away.
