The Moons Of Earth
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
From orbit, the Space Shuttle Discovery photographed two moons of Earth. Above the planet's limb, the spindly Russian Mir Space Station, our largest artificial moon, is visible. To its right, the bright spot is Earth's large natural satellite, the Moon. The Mir orbits about 200 miles above Earth, circling the planet every 90 minutes.
