A Lunar Eclipse in Three Exposures
NASA APOD · Stephen Barnes
COSMIC MESSAGE
Our Moon turned red during a total lunar eclipse last week. These superimposed photographs show the Moon entering, midway through, and exiting Earth's shadow. The red tint comes from sunlight filtering through Earth's atmosphere, which scatters blue light away.
