From orbit, a meteor shower looks like short, bright streaks against the Earth's atmosphere. During the 1997 Leonid Meteor Shower, the MSX satellite captured images of 29 meteors over 48 minutes. Below the meteors, clouds are visible, lit by reflected moonlight.
