Watch the Sky Rotate

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

If you watched the sky all night, you would see stars appear to orbit around Polaris, the North Star. This time-lapse sequence from the CONCAM project at Kitt Peak National Observatory shows this apparent rotation. The diffuse band of light moving across the image is the central disk of our own Milky Way galaxy, visible as it rotates with the Earth.
