The Light, the Dark, and the Dusty

This colorful skyscape in Cepheus spans three full moons across starfields along the plane of our Milky Way. At the center is Sharpless 2-155, also known as the Cave Nebula. This bright, reddish emission region is about ten light-years across. Its walls of gas are ionized by ultraviolet light from the hot, young stars around it.
