COSMIC MESSAGE
Black holes are defined by their event horizons, a boundary beyond which nothing, not even light, can escape. X-ray astronomers using the Chandra Observatory found direct evidence for these event horizons in binary star systems. These systems, known as X-ray novae, consist of a normal star transferring material to a black hole, which emits X-rays as it's consumed.
