NGC 4755: A Jewel Box of Stars

COSMIC MESSAGE

The Jewel Box cluster, also known as Kappa Crucis, gets its name from the variety of star colors within it. It contains just over 100 stars, including a bright red supergiant contrasted with many blue stars. This young open cluster is about 10 million years old and lies 7,500 light-years away.
