COSMIC MESSAGE
During the 2001 Leonid meteor storm, astrophotographer Tunc Tezel captured this fireball meteor over the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. The meteor's bright streak is reflected in the calm ocean waters, creating a dream-like scene. Lights from coastal dwellings and islands dot the foreground, while brilliant Sirius, the brightest star in the heavens, shines in the constellation Canis Major. The clear skies provided a splendid view of this celestial event.
