Jupiter, Io and Shadow

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Io, Jupiter's innermost Galilean moon, is seen here in front of the gas giant. To the left of Io is its shadow, where a solar eclipse would be observed from Jupiter. Earth-based observers often see shadows of Jupiter's large moons crossing its disk. For the next few months, the Galilean moons will also appear to cross in front of each other.
