Normally hidden by the Sun's glare, the solar corona came out to play during a total solar eclipse over southern Africa. This telescopic image shows the Sun's corona shimmering around the silhouetted Moon. It was recorded near Beitbridge, Zimbabwe, where the total phase lasted one minute and 23 seconds.
