NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Centaurus A, a giant elliptical galaxy, has an active core hidden from optical view by a thick dust lane. The Chandra X-ray Observatory revealed its energetic nature. The most striking feature in this false-color X-ray view is a 30,000 light-year long jet. It blasts toward the upper left, showing the galaxy's powerful activity.
