The Belt of Venus over the Valley of the Moon
NASA APOD · Christine Churchill
COSMIC MESSAGE
Just before sunrise or after sunset, look for a pink band of light above the horizon. This is the Belt of Venus, where the atmosphere scatters sunlight at a low angle. It's a subtle effect, but once you notice it, you'll see it often. This image captures it over California's Valley of the Moon.
