COSMIC MESSAGE
The October 27th total lunar eclipse turned the Moon haunting shades of red and orange as it passed through Earth's shadow. Sunlight scattered and refracted by Earth's atmosphere caused these reddish hues. Astronomer Fred Espenak recorded the images for this composite photo from Dunkirk, Maryland, USA.
