COSMIC MESSAGE
At the edge of a dense molecular cloud, filaments of gas, cosmic dust, and a multitude of young stars beckon in this infrared image of the Orion Nebula. The WFCAM, a wide-field camera on the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope on Mauna Kea, captured these alluring structures. This picture covers about 11 light-years within the 1,500 light-year distant star-forming region.
