The Holographic Principle

NASA APOD · E. Winfree, K. Fleischer, A. Barr et al. (Caltech)
COSMIC MESSAGE

This image, like any other, holds a finite amount of information. The Holographic Principle suggests that the maximum information content of any region is determined by the area of its boundary, not its volume. This means the information in a room depends on the walls, not the space inside. It's a counterintuitive idea, still unproven, that challenges our understanding of information in the universe.
