COSMIC MESSAGE

This false-color image of Saturn, taken by the Keck I telescope, shows temperature changes based on thermal infrared emission. The sharp, ground-based picture of Saturn's southern hemisphere is a mosaic of 35 images. While general warming was expected due to the southern summer, the infrared data surprisingly shows a clear indication of a warming trend not fully anticipated.
