COSMIC MESSAGE

The Virgo Cluster of Galaxies is the closest cluster to our Milky Way. It spans more than 5 degrees in the sky, about ten times the apparent size of a full Moon. The cluster contains over 100 galaxies, including spirals, ellipticals, and irregulars. Its immense mass is actually pulling our own galaxy towards it. The cluster also contains gas so hot it glows in X-rays.
