Simeis 147 is a faint supernova remnant in the constellation Taurus. Its intricate filaments stretch nearly 3 degrees across the sky, spanning 150 light-years. This image, with eight hours of H-alpha filter exposure, highlights light from recombining hydrogen atoms. It shows the expanding nebulosity from a stellar explosion.
