Enceladus Close-Up

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The surface of Enceladus is as white as fresh snow, but this contrast-enhanced image reveals a variety of terrain. Taken by the Cassini spacecraft during a March flyby, this close-up view has a resolution of about 30 meters per pixel and spans over 20 kilometers. Enceladus is the most reflective moon in the solar system, and recent Cassini encounters have also detected a tenuous atmosphere, making it a fascinating object of study.
