A sequence of exposures from Madrid, Spain, captures the annular solar eclipse of October 3, 2005. The Moon is silhouetted against the Sun, creating a dramatic ring of fire as it moves across the sky. This event was observed from the Parque del Buen Retiro, near the monument to King Alfonso XII.
