COSMIC MESSAGE

The Cone Nebula, seen on the left, is an interstellar formation about 2,700 light-years away. Its cone shape is still a mystery. The image also shows red emission from diffuse hydrogen, dark dust filaments, and the bright star S Monocerotis on the far right. Blue reflection nebulae surround the brighter stars.
