COSMIC MESSAGE
These familiar shapes are emission nebulae, glowing clouds of gas. On the left, NGC 7000 resembles the continent of North America. To its right is the Pelican Nebula, less luminous but equally distinct. Both are about 50 light-years across, 1500 light-years away, and separated by a dark cloud.
