COSMIC MESSAGE
Markarian's Chain is a striking string of galaxies across the heart of the Virgo Cluster. The chain includes two large lenticular galaxies, M84 and M86, and several large spirals like M88. This cluster is the closest one to us, containing over 2,000 galaxies, and it exerts a gravitational pull on our own Local Group of galaxies.
